Woverly Church of England Secondary School, West Midlands

The school has gained a silver Eco-Schools award, and is currently working towards the Green Flag. It runs several sustainable development initiatives and embeds the principles into the school’s ethos and the curriculum, including an ‘Eco Code’ and an ‘Eco Council’, consisting of students of all ages and a link Governor who attends their meetings. This group leads on ‘switch off’ campaigns, free trade projects and tree planting.

London Schools ditch junk food

New figures show that half of London's boroughs are serving healthy, ethical and environmentally sustainable meals to their schools' pupils. Meal providers in these boroughs have proved that they meet the Food for Life Catering Mark's Bronze or Silver award, a benchmark for quality catering in schools.

Food Co-ops

This document provides information for schools on how to set up their own food co-ops involving teachers, families and students. This kind of school buying group makes fresh, local, ethically produced food more accessible to its members, and supports local farmers by providing them with a local, regular and reliable outlet. SEEd Biodiversity Resources Map

This is a table of resources for use in teaching and learning about Biodiversity which were collated by SEEd and reviewed in workshops.
