UNESCO's DESD Survey

Reply to SEEd by 29th February 2012. Your unique opportunity to tell SEEd how ESD works in practice in the UK!

Are you an educator working in ESD in the UK? Does your organization work with ESD? As part of their Decade of ESD (DESD) UNESCO and SEEd want to hear your experiences…

  • What are your views on ESD?
  • How does your organisation best facilitate ESD?
  • Who benefits from this facilitation?
  • What changes are becoming visible as a result of the work your organization does?
  • What influence do you think this work is having on mainstream education?

This is for all formal and non-formal education bodies, Government (local and national) networks and businesses who are delivering Education for Sustainable Development – its not just schools! SEEd has been asked to encourage and collate the responses from the UK. The results will be available near the end of April for our annual Policy Forum and for discussion, where we hope representatives of the government will attend/speak.

So join in and lets see where we have got to and what we still need to do. If you have materials you wish to include please send to SEEd at: SEEd, Upper Unit 5, Bay 4 The Co-op Centre 11 Mowll Street SW9 6BG.

Your responses will contribute to a world wide research programme UNESCO have put together as part of the second phase of the DESD:

  • Phase I (2007-2009) contexts and structures for ESD
  • Phase II (2009-2012) processes and learning for ESD
  • Phase III (2012-2014) outputs, outcomes and impacts of the Decade of ESD
